Producer

Jean-Max Roger

France

Jean-Max Roger is a long-established family estate in Bué, in the Sancerre area of the Loire Valley, with roots in the family since the 16th century. Jean-Max works alongside his sons Étienne and Thibault, continuing a multigenerational domaine focused on Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir from Sancerre and Menetou-Salon. Farming emphasizes soil health and sustainability through low-trained, densely planted vines, Guyot Poussart pruning, organic or composted manure, cover crops, green manure, and mechanical soil work, without formal certification. In the cellar, fruit is harvested by hand, pressed quickly, and handled with care: whites see settling, indigenous yeasts supported by selected yeasts, and extended lees aging, while Pinot Noir reds and rosé are made for finesse and elegance.
