Family-owned winery Guido Marsella was established by its namesake in Summonte, Irpinia, in 1990. Guido Marsella is both owner and winemaker, having pioneered Fiano di Avellino in this high-altitude territory at the foot of Monte Partenio. The vineyards lie above 600 metres, within or near the Partenio Regional Park, on clay-loam, rocky and calcareous soils with strong ventilation and marked day-night temperature variation. Grapes are hand-harvested from low-yielding vines and vinified with modern technology. The winery focuses on pure varietal wines, natural maturation and delayed release, commercialising wines at least 18 months after harvest. Its Fiano is valued for aromatic complexity, acidity and notable ageing potential.
