Gonfrier is a family-owned Bordeaux producer based in Lestiac-sur-Garonne, with roots dating to 1962 and several generations of Gonfrier family involvement. The family cultivates and vinifies its own vineyards, while its negociant-winemaker activity, established in 1997, works with around forty neighboring growers whose grapes are monitored under production specifications. Family fruit is processed at the historic Lestiac-sur-Garonne winery and selected purchased grapes at the Chais de Rions; wines are aged and bottled on-site. Eric Gonfrier leads vinification and ageing, with Philippe, Thibault and Paul overseeing the vineyards and wider business. Vineyard management follows reasoned, traceable practices including soil work, grass cover and biodiversity protection. The company holds HVE3 and Terra Vitis certifications, with some vineyards certified organic, and is also engaged in ISO 14001 and EcoVadis-certified environmental and social responsibility programs. Its wines aim to express the diversity and identity of Bordeaux terroirs.
