Friedrich Wilhelm Gymnasium

Germany

Friedrich Wilhelm Gymnasium is a historic Mosel estate cultivating steep vineyards on the Middle Mosel and Saar, exclusively with Riesling. Founded in 1561 by the Archbishop of Trier, the estate’s revenues support the Jesuit school of the same name, while its vineyards are now maintained by the Bishop’s wineries. Its wines are fermented in modern stainless-steel tanks and traditional 1,000-litre Mosel Fuder oak barrels in deep cellars beneath Trier. No sustainability certification is reported.
