Fortemasso

Italy

Fortemasso is a family-owned estate in Castelletto, Monforte d’Alba, in the heart of Piedmont’s Langhe, acquired by the Gussalli Beretta family in 2013. Its vineyards include Nebbiolo for Barolo DOCG alongside traditional varieties such as Barbera, Dolcetto and Langhe Nebbiolo, planted on steep slopes and worked largely by hand. The sandy Diano Sandstone soils and cool, breezy conditions help produce wines combining Monforte’s characteristic power with freshness. Winemaking is firmly vineyard-led, with limited cellar intervention intended to preserve varietal and site expression. A modern underground, eco-sustainable cellar protects the natural landscape while operating in accordance with tradition.
