Ferruccio Sgubin is a family-owned, multi-generational winery founded in 1960 in Mernico, Dolegna del Collio. Its vineyards lie on the Collio’s distinctive Ponca soils—marl and sandstone that contribute mineral, elegant and structured wines. The family works the vines by hand, prioritizing quality over quantity, biodiversity and careful monitoring of the land. With organic certification for all Ferruccio Sgubin wines from the 2023 vintage, the estate combines scientific vineyard management with tradition, renewable energy and the reuse of pruning wood as biomass fuel. Native-yeast fermentations, low sulfites, no added sugar or flavorings, and patient aging reflect a low-intervention approach. The range includes aromatic whites and structured reds, alongside the Cru-based Mirnik wines, designed to express the mineral character, depth and longevity of the Collio terroir.
