Emile Beyer is a long-established family domaine in Eguisheim, Alsace, with Beyer roots in the village dating to 1580 and family ownership since 1792. Today, 14th-generation winemaker Christian Beyer and his wife Valérie oversee approximately 18 hectares across 80 parcels, including Grand Crus Pfersigberg and Eichberg and the lieu-dits Hohrain, Sundel and Saint-Jacques. The vineyards, largely on Eguisheim’s limestone slopes, have been farmed organically since 2005 and biodynamically, with Demeter certification, since 2016. Hand harvesting, rigorous vineyard sorting, grass cover and restored dry-stone walls reflect a detailed, biodiversity-conscious approach. In the cellar, long fermentations with native yeasts and minimal intervention aim to preserve each site’s character. The wines emphasize the freshness, finesse, salinity and depth associated with Eguisheim’s varied calcareous terroirs.
