Domaine Sagesse des Sols is a family-run Loire Valley estate in Anjou, founded in 2020 by husband-and-wife team Cathy and Fred Rouger. The domaine focuses on living soils and biodiversity, using certified organic viticulture, cover crops and local cattle manure. Its vineyards lie on schist, sandstone, clay-sandy soils and quartz-veined ground. The Rougers work with Loire varieties including Chenin, Grolleau and Pineau d’Aunis, alongside vines more than 50 years old. Their small-production Sonate sparkling wine is crafted from fruit sourced from more than 200 growers, reflecting a distinctly artisanal approach. Anti-breakage bottle packaging further supports the estate’s practical sustainability focus.
