Domaine Barraud is a family-owned estate in Vergisson in Burgundy’s Mâconnais, founded in 1905 and still run by the Barraud family, with Daniel, Julien and Martine Barraud leading the work in cellar and vineyard. The domaine focuses on white Burgundy, especially Chardonnay from Pouilly-Fuissé, Saint-Véran and Mâcon-Villages, including high-altitude and historic parcels around Vergisson. Farming is certified organic and sustainable, with soil work, manual labor and hand harvesting central to the approach. In the cellar, the family emphasizes terroir expression through traditional winemaking, including pneumatic pressing, barrel fermentation without added yeasts, élevage of ten to fourteen months, and bottling with or without filtration.
