France

Claude Riffault is a family-owned estate in Sancerre, Loire Valley, run by Stéphane Riffault, son of founder Claude, with his wife Benedicte overseeing the harvest team. The vineyards span 33 parcels across four villages, largely around Sury-en-Vaux, on Kimmeridgian limestone, marl, clay and some flint soils. Certified organic by ECOCERT and biodynamic by BIODYVIN since 2017, the estate uses no synthetic inputs, plows the vineyards, and harvests by hand with extensive sorting. Stéphane vinifies parcels separately, with natural yeast fermentations, minimal oak and unfiltered bottling, aiming for terroir-expressive Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir.
