Château Ferran is a small, family-owned estate in Pessac-Léognan, Bordeaux, producing limited quantities of red and white Bordeaux-style blends. Philippe and Ghislaine Lacoste have managed the property since 1999, continuing family involvement dating back to 1880. Its clay-limestone soils include marl and iron substructures, and the vineyard is certified Demeter biodynamic and carries the High Environmental Value label. Farming is carried out manually and with horse-drawn plows, without pesticides or herbicides, using nettle- and chamomile-based treatments. Winemaking is led by Julien Ferran with support from consulting oenologist Denis Dubordieu, with very low sulphur additions.
