Biondi is a family-owned Etna estate in Sicily, run by Ciro Biondi and his wife Stef near Trecastagni on the south-eastern slopes of Mount Etna. The family’s wine history dates back to the late 1800s, and the current winery was launched in 1999 in a renovated historic palmento, with Ciro serving as winemaker. The estate’s three vineyards are farmed organically, using organic fertilizers and limited sulfur and copper treatments. Vines are trained alberello on terraced volcanic, sandy soils at 600–700 meters, in a site shaped by strong day-night temperature shifts. Biondi’s identity is rooted in family continuity, organic farming, and traditional Etna growing conditions.
