Family-owned Belondrade, in La Seca, Castilla y León, was founded by French winemaker Didier Belondrade with the dream of making a great white wine in Spain. The estate’s high-altitude Verdejo vineyards have been farmed organically since 2012, and the winery remains under the direction of Didier, his son Jean, and daughter Marta. Its philosophy is to interpret four defining elements: country, climate, terroir, and grape variety. The emblematic wine comes exclusively from the ecological Quinta San Diego estate, where parcels are harvested by hand, fermented separately with indigenous yeasts, and aged on the lees in French oak. The Belondrade Foundation further connects the winery’s interest in interpretation with art and society.
