Scala is a family-owned winery in Calabria, founded in 1949 by Antonio Scala and now managed by his grandson Francesco Scala, who oversees all stages of production. The estate focuses on native Calabrian varieties including Gaglioppo, Greco Bianco and Magliocco. Farming is organic and SQNPI certified, with no chemical inputs noted in the vineyards. One cited site, planted in 1997, sits at 100–150 meters with clay-and-sand soils rich in calcium and a south-south-east exposure. In the cellar, Scala combines historic cement tanks with modern equipment, producing Cirò Rosso and Cirò Bianco under the historic Cirò DOC.
