Founded in 2004 by Craig and Anne Wessels, Restless River is a family-owned estate in South Africa’s Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, Western Cape. The farm practices sustainable viticulture and follows organic principles as closely as each vintage permits, without stated formal certification. Craig Wessels is proprietor and sole winemaker, overseeing handcrafted, estate-focused wines including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. The small-scale operation reflects the Wessels family’s direct involvement, with their son Luc also participating.
