Piaggia

Italy

Piaggia is a family-run estate in Carmignano, Tuscany, founded by Mauro Vannucci in 1990 after he purchased the land in the mid-1970s. The property extends over 25 hectares, with about 15 hectares of vineyards on the eastern slopes of the Montalbano hills. Mauro, often described as a passionate artisan, runs the winery with his daughter Silvia, focusing on a vineyard-first philosophy. They practice organic viticulture, using only organic fertilizers and avoiding synthetic chemicals. The winery, partially buried into the hillside for ideal aging conditions, produces around 39,600 bottles annually. Piaggia's Carmignano wines have gained significant prestige, regularly appearing in top Italian wine rankings and being served in renowned restaurants like Le Cirque in New York.
