Ornellaia is a Bolgheri estate in Tuscany, founded in 1981 and owned by the Frescobaldi family. Its identity is closely tied to Bolgheri’s Mediterranean setting, with sea, wind, sun and varied soils shaping a philosophy that blends terroir, precision and free thinking. Vineyard work is highly detailed, with many small parcels tended individually to express their distinct character. Sustainability is central to the estate’s approach: Ornellaia holds Equalitas Sustainable Organization certification and Biodiversity Friend certification, and reports on responsible viticulture, resource reduction, biodiversity protection and social initiatives. Beyond wine, the estate is known for its Archivio Storico and the long-running Vendemmia d’Artista project, linking each vintage to contemporary art and charity.
