2023 · Mesta Organic Tempranillo

Mesta is an independent, environmentally focused Spanish label from Castilla-La Mancha, produced by Peninsula Vinicultores. Its Tempranillo comes from high-altitude vineyards in the historic Uclés DO, owned by the winery and farmed organically and biodynamically. The vineyards avoid synthetic fertilizers and fungicides, using organic manure, rainwater drip irrigation, and practices that promote biodiversity. The limited range is made in a state-of-the-art winery under the direction of winemakers Sam Harrop and Tomás Buendía, combining careful vineyard stewardship with a contemporary approach to Spanish wine.
