2020 · Palmiet Chardonnay

JH Meyer is a small-lot natural-wine project led by Johan “Stompie” Meyer and his wife, Anri, who own Platteklip Vineyard in Swartland and also source fruit from cool-climate Elgin vineyards. Focusing on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, the wines are made from hand-picked grapes using minimal intervention, 100% carbonic maceration and low-sulphur practices. The vineyards are farmed sustainably and organically, with vegan-friendly wines and no formal certification noted. Meyer also co-founded Mother Rock with Ben Henshaw and partners with Indigo Wine on the Mother Rock and Force Celeste labels.
