Jan Matthias Klein is the seventh-generation winemaker at the Klein family’s Staffelter Hof estate in Kröv, Mosel. Working steep slate slopes with organic viticulture, the estate produces limited quantities from its estate-managed vineyards. The wines are certified organic and vegan, made with zero added sulphur, and are unfined, unfiltered, and hand-bottled. Jan Matthias Klein works alongside cellar master and assistant winemaker Yamilé Abad, using natural insect repellents in the vineyards. The estate also participates in the Klitzekleine Ring collective, supporting vineyard conservation.
