Iron Horse Vineyards is a family-owned estate in Sonoma County’s Green Valley AVA, founded by Audrey and Barry Sterling and now led by their descendants, including CEO Joy Sterling. The estate’s cool, foggy climate, Goldridge soils, and approximately 160 acres of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are managed through block-by-block precision viticulture, with each parcel harvested and vinified separately. Certified sustainable and regenerative, the winery uses recycled water, cover crops, integrated pest management, and low-impact packaging, while supporting salmon habitat restoration on Green Valley Creek and climate-smart agriculture. Iron Horse is best known for elegant, age-worthy sparkling wines, alongside estate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir; its sparkling wines have been served at the White House across seven Presidential Administrations. Long-term continuity is reflected in winemaker David Munksgard’s 30 vintages and three generations living on the property.
