Intercept is a California wine brand launched in 2019 by former NFL star Charles Woodson in partnership with O’Neill Vintners & Distillers. Based at a facility in Paso Robles, it sources grapes from vineyards in Paso Robles and Monterey County, with sparkling wine from Burgundy. Head winemaker Amanda Gorter, a UC Davis-trained viticulturist, collaborates with Woodson on each vintage and blending, with input from Jeff O’Neill. The range includes approachable Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, red blends and Crémant de Bourgogne, generally emphasizing medium- to full-bodied wines with balanced acidity and fruit, designed for immediate enjoyment. Intercept highlights sustainable practices and environmental stewardship without listed formal certifications, and supports BIPOC wine-industry scholarships through the Charles Woodson & O’Neill Family Wine Scholarships.
