Herdade do Mouchão is a six-generation, family-owned estate in Alentejo, founded by English port-wine merchant Thomas Reynolds and later expanded by his grandson John Reynolds. Its first vines were planted in 1901, and the property retains old vines alongside broader agricultural activities including cork, olives, grains, and livestock. Iain Reynolds Richardson, the current family representative and winemaker, oversees both the vineyards and the estate. The wines are rooted in a long-established family tradition and the character of old Alentejo vines.
