Weingut Esterházy, owned by the Esterházy Foundations, farms 65 hectares across 21 vineyards in Burgenland, on Leithakalk marine limestone soils. Since 2019 it has followed organic viticulture, gaining certification in 2023, with no irrigation, herbicides or insecticides, alongside gentle pruning, bio-compost and biodiversity-focused practices. The estate is also Europe’s first B-Corp certified winery. Winemaking is led by Wolfgang Hewarth, with Robert Krammer overseeing vineyard practices, and includes the use of the estate’s own oak barrels.
