Duncan Savage is the founder, owner and sole head winemaker of Savage Wines, an independent boutique label based in an urban cellar in Salt River, Cape Town. Launched as a side project in 2011 and taken full-time in 2016, the winery produces deliberately limited, small-batch wines from sites across the Western Cape. Savage oversees all winemaking decisions himself, with the range including a 100% Stellenbosch Syrah made from biodynamically farmed fruit, although no formal certification is cited. The label’s hands-on ownership and focused production reflect a personal, artisanal approach.
