Domaine Philippe Plantevin

France

Domaine Philippe Plantevin is a sixth-generation family estate based in Cairanne in the Rhône Valley, owned and run by Philippe Plantevin and his wife, with winemaking led by Philippe and his son Laurent-Arnaud. The domaine is certified organic and farms vineyards across Cairanne, Sainte-Cécile-les-Vignes, Visan and Travaillan, on mainly clay-limestone garrigue and light clay-silt soils. Viticulture includes mechanical soil work without chemical herbicides, minimal spraying, low yields and selective parcel-by-parcel harvesting. The estate produces expressive Côtes du Rhône wines from a diverse range of Rhône varieties. Traditional vinification involves destemming, crushing and 10–30 days of cuvaison, with regular remontage or délestage, followed by fermentation in steel and concrete tanks.
