David Duband

France

David Duband is a family-owned Burgundy estate based in Chevannes in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, with roots in the Duband family domaine founded in 1965 and a new chapter under David Duband from 1991. Guided by his father’s vineyard work, mentoring from Robert Jayer, and experience at Arlaud and Pierre Amiot, David farms organically, having begun soil work in 1998 and converted fully in 2006. The domaine avoids synthetic products, uses cover crops, limits yields through precise pruning, and focuses on living soils and vineyard expression. In the cellar, Duband follows a traditional yet thoughtful approach: hand harvesting, foot crushing, significant whole-cluster fermentation since 2008, low-sulfur, minimal-intervention methods, and élevage in oak. The wines are known for elegance, refinement, structure, and a clear expression of Burgundy’s climats.
