Caparsa is a small, family-run estate in Radda in Chianti, Tuscany, owned and directed by Paolo Cianferoni. His father acquired the property in 1965, and Paolo has operated it with Gianna and their children since 1982. The estate farms certified-organic vineyards using conscientious, regenerative practices: manual work, hand harvesting, non-synthetic treatments, mechanical weeding, and spontaneous grass cover. In the cellar, Caparsa follows a traditional, minimal-intervention approach, including native-yeast fermentation and aging in large traditional casks. Sangiovese is central to the wines, which are known for their energetic character and abundant red fruit. The family also preserves local heritage through its 17th-century cellar and the publication of regional oral history.
