Founded in 1957 by 57 winegrowers in Quintanamanvirgo, Torremorón is a cooperative now owned by 88 members. Its vineyards lie on Ribera del Duero’s north bank at 800–900 metres, protected by the Cuesta Manvirgo, and are planted mainly to Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) with some Albillo. Vines average 20–40 years, with centenarian parcels also preserved. Grapes are harvested manually, combining traditional viticulture with modern winemaking technology introduced during the winery’s 1990 modernization. Historically associated with the area’s underground cellars, Torremorón has moved from bulk sales to bottling its own wines, producing expressive Ribera del Duero styles including Joven, Roble, Crianza, Reserva and selected wines from old vines.
