Ricasoli is a historic Chianti Classico estate based at Castello di Brolio in Gaiole in Chianti, with the family’s connection to the property dating back to 1141. Led by Baron Francesco Ricasoli, with winemaking by Carlo Ferrini and Massimiliano Biagi, the estate combines deep regional roots with a strong research focus, including soil zoning, precision viticulture, and clonal selection of Brolio Sangiovese. Farming is nature-friendly and sustainability-driven, with no chemical weeding or pesticides, practices described as going beyond organic standards, and Equalitas certification. Sangiovese is central to the wines, alongside site-specific work that has led to distinct cru bottlings. Historic cellars and modern technology together reflect a producer balancing heritage, environmental stewardship, and detailed vineyard expression.
