Barone Pizzini is a historic Franciacorta producer based in Provaglio d’Iseo, Lombardy, with roots dating to 1870 and a reputation as the first organic Franciacorta estate. Farming has followed organic principles since 1997, with certification from 2001, and the winery also emphasizes biodiversity, natural-origin vineyard treatments, biodynamic practice, vegan certification, and low-intervention cellar work. Its vineyards in Franciacorta span morainic and fluvioglacial soils, and the estate has also invested in bio-architecture, solar energy, natural cooling, and water purification. Led by Silvano Brescianini with winemaking by Alessandro Fenino, Barone Pizzini focuses on wines that express territory and vintage character, while also pioneering the revival of the native Erbamat grape.
