Producer

Alheit Vineyards

South Africa

Founded in 2010 by Chris and Suzaan Alheit, Alheit Vineyards is a family-owned producer in South Africa’s Western Cape, working with dry-farmed bush vines across several Cape sites and their own Nuwedam farm on the Paardeberg. The team emphasizes careful vineyard work, healthy soils, hand harvesting, and close relationships with growers. Their low-intervention wines aim to express the voice of the land rather than the winemaker, using native fermentation, whole-bunch pressing, and no additives or manipulation. Wines are matured in old barrels, concrete eggs, and clay amphorae, with no new oak, fining, or pre-fermentation sulphur.
