Producer

Adega de Borba

Portugal

Founded in 1955, Adega de Borba is one of Portugal’s first wine cooperatives, bringing together local winegrowers in Borba, Alentejo. Its wines reflect the sub-region’s distinctive red calcareous, schist and marble-influenced soils, altitude and cooler conditions, combining traditional varieties and styles with more contemporary approaches. The cooperative produces a broad range of Alentejo wines, including DOC Alentejo and Regional Alentejano bottlings, as well as spirits and fortified wines. Its portfolio includes long-established labels such as Montes Claros and the emblematic Reserva “Cork Label,” alongside more experimental limited editions. Adega de Borba participates in the Sustainability Program for Alentejo Wines and has implemented measures involving energy efficiency, water management, waste reduction and social support for the region.
