Rosa del Golfo is a historic family-run winery in Alezio, Salento, owned and operated by the Calò family and today led by Damiano and Pamela Calò, with Mino Calò noted as a key figure. The estate works with traditional Salento varieties, especially Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera Leccese, alongside Primitivo, from vineyards in Alezio and surrounding areas. Its farming emphasizes low yields, bush-trained old vines, manual harvesting, and reduced chemical use, though no formal certification is reported. In the cellar, the winery combines tradition and innovation, including native yeasts, wood vats, concrete tanks, and short skin contact, with a particular focus on rosé.
