Pfaffenheim

France

Pfaffenheim is Alsace’s oldest wine cooperative, founded in 1957 and collectively owned by around 150 local growers. Based in Alsace, it works across a broad catchment and produces AOC Alsace wines, including still wines and Crémant d’Alsace. The cooperative combines traditional methods for white appellations with modern pneumatic presses, stainless-steel fermentation and temperature control, under chief winemaker Jérôme Attard. A separate family-owned Moltes estate operates under the same village name, managed by Stéphane and Mickaël Moltes and certified organic since 2015. Together, the producers express Alsace’s varied terroirs, including Grand Cru sites such as Zinnkoepfle, Steinert and Goldert.
