Far Niente is a Napa Valley wine estate in California with roots dating to 1880, founded by John Benson and later shaped by the Doak and Stelling families before its revival by Gil Nickel in 1979. Now operating multiple wineries under Far Niente Wine Estates, it combines historic Napa heritage with modern sustainability. The vineyards are Napa Green and Climate Smart certified, with organic and sustainable farming focused on reclaimed water, drip irrigation, drought-resistant rootstocks, mechanical weed control, cover crops, and reduced tractor use. The estate also runs on 100% renewable power, including on-site solar, with net-zero electricity. Nicole Marchesi is the lead winemaker.
