Weingut Scheuring is a small family estate in Margetshöchheim, Franconia, near Würzburg, owned and run by winemaker Ilonka Scheuring. Taking over her parents’ winery at 23, Ilonka maintains a hands-on approach, overseeing the work from vineyard to cellar. The vineyards include steep slopes with Muschelkalk soils, where the estate avoids herbicides, supports bees, and promotes biodiversity through flower strips, natural greening, and more than 300 traditional orchard trees. As a founding member of the ETHOS Group, Scheuring follows a sustainability code combining ecological, economic, and social responsibility, including resource-saving practices, reusable packaging, and support for regional suppliers. Ilonka describes the wines as “traditionally modern”: the BASIC range focuses on lighter, fruitier styles, while the KLASSIK range includes traditional dry Franconian wines such as Silvaner.
