Weingut Freimuth is a family-run Rheingau estate with roots reaching back to the postwar period. Karin and Alexander Freimuth have owned and operated the winery since 1989, with Alexander as principal winemaker; their son is studying winemaking and is expected to continue the family tradition. The vineyards are planted mainly to Riesling and Spätburgunder, alongside Weißburgunder, Grauburgunder and Sauvignon Blanc. Alexander and Jonas Freimuth also produce handmade sparkling wines in a historic 1722 barrel cellar in Nierstein. Made by traditional bottle fermentation and given extended lees ageing, these Sekte reflect the estate’s combination of traditional craft, patience and precision.
