Producer

Viña Real

Spain

Pagos de Viña Real is a small-scale Rioja producer owned by the CVNE family, working the nearly two-hectare La Romera vineyard in Labastida, planted around 40 years ago. Its boutique approach is reflected in fermentation with indigenous yeasts in modest-sized vats, followed by malolactic fermentation and ageing on the lees in 300-litre French oak barrels. The operation forms part of Viña Real’s broader Rioja Alavesa heritage, a label established in 1920 and associated with wines expressing the character and elegance of the region.
