Villa Santo Stefano

Villa Santo Stefano is a boutique estate in the hills above Lucca, privately owned by Wolfgang Reitzle and Nina Ruge since 2001, when they restored the historic Villa Bertolli. It farms certified-organic vineyards in Lucca and Maremma, producing wines from its own grapes under strict biological guidelines and a philosophy of respect for nature and the Lucchesia. The estate combines traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, including computer-controlled fermentation and carefully managed barrel ageing. Its wines are shaped by Tuscany’s Mediterranean conditions, while its organic extra-virgin olive oil is certified DOP Lucca. The team includes winemaker Attilio Pagli, agronomist Alessandro Garzi, and winemaker Alessio Farnesi.
