Villa Ligi

Italy

Founded in 1912 and revived as a winery in the 1980s, Villa Ligi is a family-run Marche estate led by Francesco Tonelli and his son Stefano. The Tonellis cultivate historic local varieties, including Vernaccia di Pergola—recognised as a clone of Aleatico—as well as Biancame, Sangiovese and Montepulciano for Pergola DOC, Bianchello del Metauro DOC and Colli Pesaresi DOC. Certified-organic viticulture, biodiversity and respect for the land guide work across the Grifoleto, Montalfoglio and Montevecchio vineyards, each with distinct soils, exposures and elevations. Stefano oversees both agronomy and winemaking, continuing the family’s commitment to preserving native vines and expressing the territory.
