Tim Smith Wines

Australia

Tim Smith Wines is a boutique, family-run producer based in Vine Vale near Tanunda in South Australia’s Barossa Valley. Founded in 2001 by owner-winemaker Tim Smith, the winery grew from a study tour to France’s Rhône Valley and remains clearly influenced by Rhône varieties and style, while staying grounded in Barossa character. Tim brings decades of hands-on experience from leading Barossa estates and overseas wineries. The range focuses on wines the region excels at, including Barossa Mataro/Grenache/Shiraz, Barossa Shiraz, and Eden Valley Viognier. The estate presents wine in an approachable, social way, with tastings by appointment. Notes mention challenges around water scarcity and achieving flavour-ripe fruit at lower sugar levels.
