Producer

Susana Balbo

Argentina

Susana Balbo is a family-run producer based in Mendoza, led by Susana Balbo, widely noted as Argentina’s first female winemaker. The winery operates within the Dominio del Plata portfolio, with the Crios range positioned as a sub-brand alongside her main label. Its vineyards include sites in the Uco Valley, such as Los Chacayes, Vista Flores, Los Árboles and Gualtallary Sur, and the winery is also noted in Luján de Cuyo. Sustainability is a clear focus: the estate follows Dominio del Plata’s sustainable agriculture code, adheres to the Bodegas de Argentina sustainability protocol, and has begun organic certification for two vineyards. Organic production is emphasized through wines including the Crios Sustentia line.
