Producer

Terra Valentine

United States

Founded in 1999 by Christopher Angus and Margaret Wurtele, Terra Valentine is a Napa Valley producer specializing in wines from the mountain vineyards of Spring Mountain. Sam and Angela Baxter acquired the winery in 2014, with Sam Baxter serving as winemaker and managing partner. The estate includes the Wurtele Vineyard, while additional grapes come from varied mountain sites. Baxter emphasizes minimal-intervention winemaking and careful ripeness and flavor development. A hillside stone barrel cellar provides naturally cool, humid conditions for aging. The wines, including Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese-based blends, are characterized as robust yet balanced, expressing the distinctive terrain of Spring Mountain.
