Quinta da Romaneira is a historic Douro estate with vineyards planted on steep terraces across varied microclimates and exposures. Its wines are made exclusively from estate-grown grapes, with a focus on expressing terroir through site-specific, single-parcel wines. Old vines have been restored and new plantings matched to individual microclimates. A modern underground winery combines temperature-controlled vats and stainless-steel lagares for foot-treading, using technology to support rather than replace traditional practices. Christian Seely and Antonio Agrellos are the principal figures behind the winery’s design and management.
