Producer

La Mozza

Italy

La Mozza is a Tuscan producer in Magliano in Toscana, at the heart of Maremma, where 16 hectares of vineyards lie among pastures, fields and woodland under a dry, breezy Tyrrhenian climate. The estate is owned by the Moris family, with winemaker Adolfo Parentini overseeing production; the brand is a joint venture of Mario Batali and Joe and Lidia Bastianich. Focusing on estate-grown Sangiovese and selected Mediterranean varieties, La Mozza combines hand harvesting, temperature-controlled fermentation and oak aging. Its wines seek complexity, structure and marked territorial identity, balanced by elegance, finesse and longevity rather than modern “special effects.” Vineyard and cellar practices emphasize careful environmental management and respect for local biodiversity, and some wines carry organic labeling.
