La Bruixa dels Mudefes

Spain

La Bruixa dels Mudefes is a small, family-owned winery in Batea, Terra Alta, founded in 2015 and run by the Busquet family, with winemaker and enologist Ivan Busquet at the helm. Its dry-farmed, organically cultivated vineyards are managed with minimal tillage, supporting soil health, biodiversity and water availability in Terra Alta’s dry Mediterranean climate. The cellar follows a low-intervention approach, using native yeasts and avoiding cold treatment and tartaric precipitation prevention products. The winery produces limited, artisanal wines—particularly terroir-driven reds from Garnacha Tinta, Carignan and Syrah—made traditionally and given long aging. Its name refers to the healers or “witches” associated with Els Mudefes, a rural area and microclimate near Batea.
