Domaine NABA

France

Domaine NABA is a family domaine founded in 2013 by Mathieu Lacanette-Naba and his father, Jean-Paul, in Estialescq in the Jurançon appellation. Mathieu, trained in viticulture and oenology, planted the first vines on family land in 2008. The 5-hectare estate faces the Pyrenees on clay-limestone slopes and is planted with Petit Manseng, Gros Manseng and Lauzet. The domaine has transitioned to organic viticulture, with fully grassed vineyards. Housed in a restored Béarnaise stone barn, the winery is designed for gravity-flow winemaking, whole-cluster grapes and gentle pressing. It produces three to four white cuvées, ranging from dry to sweet, which are aged for eight to nine months on fine lees in stainless steel tanks.
