Château Pouget

France

Château Pouget is a small Fourth Growth estate in Margaux, owned by the Guillemet family since 1906 and managed by fifth-generation winemaker Lucien Guillemet. Its south-facing vineyard lies in the appellation’s deep, sandy siliceous gravels and is planted mainly to Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Certified organic since 2017, the estate emphasizes careful pruning, green harvesting, minimal chemical intervention, and manual harvesting with rigorous sorting. The wines express traditional Margaux character: elegant and aromatic, with ripe red and black fruit, supple volume, harmonious structure, and tannins suited to ageing.
