Château de Viella

France

Château de Viella is a family-owned estate in France’s Sud-Ouest, operated by the Bortolussi family since 1952 and now run by third-generation winemaker Alain Bortolussi. Its contiguous, south-facing vineyard includes AOC Madiran and AOC Pacherenc du Vic Bilh. The estate is described as organic and holds HVE Level 3 certification. Careful vineyard work includes single Guyot pruning, manual leaf removal, yield control through bunch counting, and selective hand harvesting, reflecting a hands-on approach to producing wines from the estate’s two appellations.
